Training Delirium occurs commonly in older people, but clinical assessment of delirium may not be straightforward due to symptom fluctuation and/or difficulty distinguishing delirium from other conditions. The Confusion Assessment Method Instrument is the most suitable tool for promptly identifying delirium and can be administered by anyone involved in providing care.
